It was worth the money. Although the hotel is old and lacks luxury, it is clean, breakfast was good and the rooms are well kept especially the one in the attic. We were given personal attention and the people who run it are nice. The area near the hotel is not so good but this was not a problem for us as we went touring the lake district as from early in the morning and used to return late in the afternoon.Nearby is a shopping area which we found very useful.
helpfulness of staff, I had an early start on Sat. morning and they made me a bacon sandwich to take away
location..on edge of housing estate, but it was close to town,so it was convenient.
The place is great and incredibly cheap. The room was potless, beds very comfy and we had everything we needed. Plenty for breakfast, cooked or not. The food is amazing!!!! Barrow in furness is very boring but it's just a stone throw from the lake district and that's why we were there. Perfect position.
Staff very confused. Our dinner took 1 hour and 20 min to arrive and nobody knew why... Very annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!
Staff were friendly, felt like family ! Breakfast was included & was cooked fresh to order, rail station, town, supermarkets, bowling, takeaways nearby.
Rooms are on 1st & 2nd floors with no lift (as advertised).
The staff were really helpful and really tried hard to meet our needs. The room had a large screen tv with sky included and the breakfast was lovely. It is within a short walking distance of the town centre.our bedroom had three single beds was spacious and the bathroom was lovely.
When you first arrive at the hotel the exterior is offputting. The painwork is all flaking off and its not very appealing. We went for a drink in the pub part in the evening and we asked for glasses of wine, there was none they also had no vodka. To be fair I think they had been let down by a supplier. The pub part and some of the hotel part would benefit from a facelift and some tlc.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate. Breakfast was good. Room was quiet. Other residents were friendly. I would select to stay there next time I visit
The room was cosy, had everything you needed including sky tv which was a bonus. The staff were great too. Also the food in the restaurant was beautiful.
Not much really. Reception could do with a bell, The doors on the rooms rattled in the wind if guests didn't lock them and check out time could be a bit later but thats all. Everything else was great.
Excellent food, clean comfortable, spacious room, attentive staff and a good atmosphere. Would definitely return.
Clean rooms, if you are lucky enough to be on the top floor it will be quiet, perfect to rest.
Unfortunately I was charged twice for the rooms I booked! The hotel staff is not very helpful I am afraid in refunding the overpayment so far (rude staff, not wanting to give me full names etc.). The booking confirmation is also confusing as it will say your card will be charged on the day of the booking (as it happened to me as well, I never checked if it really was charged or not) and on the day of arrival i was told that they have to charge me as their system didn't show any payments from me (although it has gone through by then). So I paid twice...
Good quality rooms. Cheap prices and good value for money.
Some of the staff service was poor. Trying to book over the phone was hard which meant that I had to book online. The service when we came to the hotel was poor as they didn't know whether we had paid or not.
The quality and quantity for the meals, as well as the wi-fi connection
near to a main street. Its difficult to get a quiet night.
i liked the privacy i was afforded at the hotel + also the break-fast + evening meal were both enjotable + filling.
The staff of the hotel were very warm and welcoming.
The breakfast was plentiful and good
The location and the fact it was a pub
Friendly helpful staff at a hotel/pub located close to centre of town. ( Reason for choice). Flexible about breakfast time on Saturday. Would use again when going to an event in town centre.
Would have appreciated an extra set of towels as we had to make do with 1 hand and 1 bath towel.
